I stopped here for lunch this summer and was confused as to why there are such great ratings on here...
The owner's grandchildren (I presume?) were there running around- which made me nervous for their safety since there were boxes and wine bottles everywhere.
I ordered a wrap, to find out that they didn't have all the ingredients to make it. No big deal, but I wasn't too impressed with the final product.
There's a decent selection of wine and beer, but it's very unorganized and dusty. There are boxes stacked everywhere. The cashier (owner? Who knows.) was more attentive to the running children than the customers lining up at the register. There was one poor soul making the food and it was the lunchtime rush.
I probably won't be returning to give this place a second try. -

Tess Market = One of a Kind Brunswick Market
I have been buying food, quality beer, and Wine here forever! Ha
My family moved to Brunswick back in the late eighties. Since then I have been buying pizza and hot sandwiches...there really is no other place around with the Tess flavor! It is the best pizza for the price! The cut is authentic...small bite size pieces. Great for the Kids!
The craft beer and import selection is also one of the best around! The big guys have moved in locally but Tess' keeps a great selection handy! I am sure they have an edge with the Quality of selection. .
Of course you cannot step inside the little storefront without noticing the prize! The wine selection is...dare I say the best in Maine! They have a flavor for all occasions and tastes! From all around the globe! If you have had it or you want to try something new....You just can not find the bottle you are looking for at the popular shops try Tess!

Adorable, well kept, affordable local market in Brunswick! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pizza is always fresh and delicious. Most importantly (haha) they have a great beer and wine selection! You can find your local favorite beers and the wine selection is one of the best around. As an avant wine drinker myself I love that I can go in often and still always find something new to try! My latest favorite that they carry? A boutique wine called The Oyster, it's crisp taste makes it an ideal pairing with everything and it has a great local cause behind it (plus as an added bonus the ABV is 13.7% haha). Overall, fabulous place I highly recommend to all.

My husband remembers being a young sailor back in the early 60's. With a wife and small children, Tess used to give him credit to buy food and let him pay when he could. Ann, his daughter who runs the store now, is the heir to all of his knowledge about wine. If she can't answer your questions, no one can. The Italians and Pizza are unique and delicious. I agree with Nick, V. If you don't go to Tess' Market, you are a fool. An icon of a store.
